Provo River Fishing Report: That Perfect Drift

Lower Provo (Below Deer Creek)

IMG_0128 (1)This week the lower Provo River has dropped significantly. My thought is with the amount of moisture we’ve been receiving lately, they’ve decide to hold back flows. Currently the river is running at 262 (cfs) which provides for great drifts and hatches. We are seeing good Midge hatch for the majority of the day and some Baetis in the afternoons. Trout are holding in all types of water from fast/deep and slow/shallow. Fishing on the upper stretches on the lower Provo have been producing quality size browns and rainbows. If you think you need to add or remove weight to get that perfect drift, do it. Sow bugs are the consistent bug right now. We look forward to seeing you on the river. – WASATCH GUIDE SERVICE
