Lower Provo (Below Deer Creek)

IMG_6848Fly fishing on the lower Provo River currently is offering up incredible fishing conditions. Flows are fluctuating a bit because of the recent rain we received this past weekend. With current River levels at 150CFS, the “Midge” and “Blue Wing Olive” hatches have been abundant offering great nymph and dry fly fishing. Best of day is between the hours of 12:00 (noon) and 6PM. We’d suggest fishing small midge, sows bugs and baetis nymphs on a “in-line”rig running tiny weight, thin tippet and small indicators. Inside seams and shallower water are holding quality size trout. Fish are also keying into a “Sow Bugs” in variety sizes and colors. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Be mindful of other Anglers and Property owners. See you on the water. – WASATCH GUIDE SERVICE

Lower Provo (Below Deer Creek)

Provo River - RainbowThe “Blue Wing Olive” hatch is in full swing on the lower Provo River. The river is running at 101 CFS which is great for sight fishing and clear water conditions. The “Midge” hatch has been heavy through out the entire day. The “Blue Wing Hatch” is starting around 11:00 a.m and lasting until 3:00 p.m. With the lower water levels it’s been a blast fishing light weight, leader and tippet with micro sow bugs and baetis nymphs. BIG trout are eating in the shallow water. The dry fly fishing has been good too on the Midge and BWO size 20 – 22. GO FISH. See you on the river – WASATCH GUIDE SERVICE
